2006/07
We've all had those cataclysmic moments of absolute truth in our lives. The birth of a child, a shaft of sunlight on a new love's face, a piece of art that reaches deep within us. Moments of blinding realization that change the whole direction of our lives.

Each of this season's operas build to just such powerful moments.

The agony of Marguerite is transformed instantly into salvation in Faust. For Norma the confession of her true situation sets her finally free. Senta's love and ultimate self-sacrifice release the Dutchman from his desperate doom and unite them in a powerful love. And in The Magic Flute, the young lovers emerge from their trials with a full vision of truth and new-found possibilities for their lives.

That's the beauty of opera--its ability to reveal surprising truths, and truth's power to transform each and every one of us.

This is a Season we'll all remember for a long time to come.
